Sarah Farahat is an interdisciplinary Egyptian American artist living in West Oakland. For ten years she has monitored public conversations in the United States and abroad-intervening with works exploring the location of the body within and in-between these socio-political landscapes. Her practice is conceptual and expressed through a variety of mediums, oftentimes incorporating text and improvisation. Her work has been exhibited in Portland, San Francisco, Oakland, New York, Savannah, Mexico, Italy, the UK, Lebanon, and Austria.
