Limitation Equals Direction by Jake Moore, Melbourne
Ballpoint pen / 52.5 x 43.5 cm (both)
Limitation Equals Direction is a series of self-portraits made using a robotic arm, controlled by live input; where the ‘self’ is the sum of the user and tools used. Aspects of the pen, paper, motors, and electronics all contributed to the final forms. The work aims to unsettle any clear distinctions between tool and user, artist and work, medium and message.
