Art Awards Retrospective Exhibition – 22 – 26 March 2017, Gallery@Oxo
The Clyde & Co Art Awards fosters emerging talent in the visual arts by introducing final year undergraduate students to the corporate sector and showcasing their work. Launched in Clyde & Co’s London office, the programme facilitates the transition from art school to professional artist, supporting graduates in their development and presenting their work to new audiences including potential collectors.
As part of the initiative, every year 40 selected artists are awarded a prize to exhibit their work in Clyde & Co offices, receive professional mentoring, free legal advice and attend workshops in creative entrepreneurship. At the end of the year, the £5000 Clyde & Co Art Prize is presented to one of the artists in addition to the £3000 National Blank Canvas Award and a £2000 Staff Vote Prize. All works are subsequently made available through an online auction, with all proceeds going to the artist. The innovative programme has already been rolled out to Clyde & Co offices across the globe including Dubai, Perth, San Francisco & Newport Beach and Sydney. The Clyde & Co Art Awards is a fantastic scheme. I’m not sure I’d be where I am today, a practising artist, without it. The Pro Bono legal advice, business mentoring and showcasing and promotion of our work was invaluable. I will never be able to thank Clyde & Co enough for giving me this foothold. A real chance to pursue my passion in art.

The Art Awards Retrospective celebrates 5 years of the programme, with over twenty new works from early-career artists who have been part of the programme since its inauguration. Diverse in content and materials, the exhibition spans painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and installation, providing a platform for selected artists in London’s landmark Oxo Tower Wharf gallery.
If you’re in London for the week of the exhibition at Gallery@Oxo we welcome you to visit (11.00-6.00pm).
Alongside the exhibition, there will be the launch of newplatform.art, a charity enabling organisations to display vibrant, changing art whilst supporting emerging artists in their professional development. Based on the Clyde & Co Art Awards model, the objective is to form an evolving network of artists who have the tools not only to sustain but also progress their creative practice. The scalable model bridges the gap between creativity and commerce, promoting knowledge exchange between sectors and creating a sustainable future for the next generation of artists.
