Global law firm Clyde & Co celebrates the fifth year of its Art Awards with a retrospective look at the programme, its artists and their art. The retrospective launched on 21 March 2017, beginning the five public exhibition.

The Art Awards Retrospective exhibition showcases over twenty works from early-career artists, who have been part of the programme since its inauguration, at London’s landmark Oxo Tower Wharf gallery.

Launched in Clyde & Co’s London office, the programme facilitates the transition from art school to professional artist, supporting graduates in their development and presenting their work to new audiences including potential collectors.

As part of the initiative, every year 40 selected artists are awarded a prize to exhibit their work in Clyde & Co offices, receive professional mentoring, free legal advice and attend workshops in creative entrepreneurship. At the end of the year, the £5000 Clyde & Co Art Prize is presented to one of the artists in addition to the £3000 National Blank Canvas Award and a £2000 Staff Vote Prize. All works are subsequently made available through an online auction, with all proceeds going to the artist. The innovative programme has already been rolled out to Clyde & Co offices across the globe including Dubai, Perth, San Francisco & Newport Beach and Sydney.

Alongside the exhibition, the retrospective marks the  launch of newplatform.art. Based on the Clyde & Co Art Awards model, it enables organisations to display vibrant, changing art whilst supporting emerging artists in their professional development. The scalable model bridges the gap between creativity and commerce, promoting knowledge exchange between sectors and creating a sustainable future for the next generation of artists.

If you’re in London for the week of the exhibition at Gallery@Oxo we welcome you to visit (22-26 March 11.00 am-6.00pm) further details here .
