The Mooltan is the migrant ship that my father arrived in Australia upon in 1948. This image forms
part of the Migrant Series, a series of lar ge scale charcoal works produced during my final year
of a Master of Contemporary Art at VCA. This series of works ai med to provoke a response in the
viewer about their location within the migrant/r efugee story. It is a proposition that we are in fact
a country of migrants, a world of migrants. It is a proposal of a transnational acceptance.
